Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Art that visually tastes like dessert!

Secession Art & Design's virtual gallery is a curation that will tempt you, as we prepare for our SF Spring Art Pop-Up on April 25-28 at 307 Cortland. My neighborhood bakery in Santa Rosa, The Village Bakery,  inspired the theme for this show. The moment I walk in their door, my eyes feast on beautiful cakes, breads, and sweets.

The artists I chose give me a sense of this same experience through their yummy use of texture and color in their art. I was drawn to the creative use of unusual tools that each artist employs - a leaf blower, palette knives, flame and wax, and stencils.

Which painting will satisfy you when you walk through your home?

Happy Collecting, Eden

P.S. All art is available for immediate purchase. If you are local, you can choose local delivery for art over $500. I will personally deliver art to your door. You can also choose "Pick up at the Pop-up" at checkout.
