Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Secession Art & Design has been closed for 30 days now, while we're sheltering in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. Organic masks! Shop spring clothing by Vivid Element online

Our friend Amy from Vivid Element is making masks using organic cotton that she hand-dyes in her Portland Studio. All proceeds from her masks go directly to the survival of her clothing line. In the mood for a new spring dress or top to be visually pleasing for Zoom conferences or happy hours? We just added a small selection to our online store. I'm happy to Facetime with you to show you the beautiful fabrics and help you with size. While you are social distancing, I can still be your personal stylist. Text me or email eden@secessionsf.com to schedule a Facetime secession.

Secession Art & Design has been closed for over two weeks now as we do our part to help slow down the spread of COVID-19 by social distancing. I have been spending time rethinking my business plan, which relied on 80% of sales from people shopping in the store. I am moved by how many customers, artists, designers, and small business owners have donated to my fundraiser. With each nice note, online sale, or donation, I am constantly reminded that Secession is worth fighting for.
