While we're closed until the city allows us to reopen (fingers crossed for April 9), Secession Art & Design is hosting a live-streamed poetry reading by Silvi Alcivar and ink drawing by Joshua Coffy this Friday. This is your chance to see their show "let me tell you a sacred" from your home. Life as we know it is different after COVID-19. We had no idea that we would spend the month of March unemployed or working from home.

COVID-19 has changed all of our lives - how we live, shop, and work. My business has survived a recession, endless construction on Mission Street, moving locations, and the 3300 block fire, not to mention the challenges of being a commercial tenant renting a brick-and-mortar storefront in San Francisco. But now I look around my beautiful store, surrounded by items so lovingly made, and feel crushed that this may be the end of what I have created.

In our hearts, art is essential. We hope that you will support us during this time by donating to our GoFundMe, shopping our online art collection and mini boutique, or buying a gift card. With your support, the store will stay open and thrive, and I will continue to be your go-to for gifts, art, and clothing.

Secession Art & Design is excited to host a pop-up for Sausalito brand gr.dano on Saturday, March 7, 2-6pm. Designer Jill Giordano will be offering her samples and spring line at 20-40% off the retail price for one day only.

Jill's attention to draping, color blocking, and beautiful long-lasting fabrics have made gr.dano a favorite at our store. Stop by Saturday to experience this brand and meet the designer. Happy local shopping!

Secession Art & Design is hosting appetizers at Emmy's Spaghetti Shack (3230 Mission) on Thursday, February 27 at 5-6 pm. Stop by to meet artist Hilary Williamsand learn about her process of screenprinting urban landscapes using 20-30 colors. All framed prints on the wall are available for purchase. Emmy is famous for her spaghetti and meatballs - after appetizers, make a reservation to stay for dinner. 

 While you are in the neighborhood, visit our gallery just across the street to see Hilary's large collection of prints and original paintings.
