Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Art is in bloom at our grand opening today!

Thursday, May 4, 11-7pm at 307 Cortland

OurSF Spring Art Pop-Up opens today! With a lot of teamwork, determination, and love, art by15+ artistsis up on the walls and ready to be seen. For this collection, I wanted to bring the superbloom inside the gallery, with art that features botanicals.

Audrey Heller's art is whimsical and full of humor. I find myself diving into her world and laughing as I go. Her photography sets the stage to invite the viewer to have a dialog and reminisce about these moments printed on aluminum.

Rachel Perls's evocative macro-scale oil paintings of dahlias are the fresh flowers that live forever. I picked a bouquet of five paintings. For those who love flowers in the home, these are perfect for bringing a pop to your walls.

Celebrate with us on Friday, May 5 6-8pm and meet our talented artists. This is a great chance to spark a conversation and learn more about our artists' processes.

XO Eden

All art is available on our virtual gallery - select local pickup at the pop-up, local free art delivery, or shipping within the US.
