Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Saturday Pop-up, today 11am-7pm

On view: underwater art on uni boxes

Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by the Spring Art Pop-up and bought art by our talented artists! Last night at the party, it was magical seeing so many artists, customers, neighbors, and friends. Even though SF is no longer home, it will always be my community. Thank you to everyone who showed up with generous hearts.

If you missed the party, I would love to see you today 11am-7pm or Sunday 11am-6pm.

Today I am featuring Ana Carol Pesce-Imlay. Her style is like no one else's I have seen before. She illustrates underwater creatures on reconstructed sea urchin boxes. Each piece has so much imagination and personality. You can watch this video explaining her process - it's a great look into her studio and world. In this collection, we have 7 intricate pieces available. Which one will you take home?
