Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Secession Art & Design's holiday art show, reclamation, is a three-woman show featuring Hilary WilliamsShannon Amidon, and Su Evers. Our hearts, spirits, and communities were tested this year with the mix of politics and natural disasters. Art is a powerful activist for the unsaid.  How will we rebuild? What is the relationship between animals, nature, history, and our current state? Through reclaimed wood, encaustic, photo transfer, paint, and screen printing, each texture draws you into an artist's interpretation of reclaiming strength and the hope that a new year promises. Please save the date Friday, December 8, 6-9pm for our holiday art party.

Shop art online using in-store pickup. Or put a Secession gift certificate on your wishlist!

PS: During November and December, we're offering free art delivery in San Francisco!
