Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Sutro Tower art & cashmere ponchos

Secession Art & Design's Gift Art pop-up is right around the corner. Our small-but-mighty team is putting everything online so you can shop from home early and pick it up at the event in Bernal. Heather Robinson created ten new Sutro Tower paintings that are 8x8", the perfect gift for someone who loves SF, Karl the Fog, and abstract art. Inspired by having to layer in the city, Eden & Zoe designed the perfect cashmere poncho/scarf in ten different colors, for when you want to watch the sunset and the fog rolling in.

In the mornings, I drop off Luca at preschool, get a cup of coffee, and head home to my office (aka my turquoise couch) with a view of our walnut tree.

Music Art Pre-order

This piece is a conversation starter, with its albums printed on wood. I love all the stories people have told me based on records from this piece that are nostalgic to them.

Pumpkin patches with artful views

Art is everywhere as the seasons change in Sonoma County. Many of our artists at Secession Art & Design create from their favorite views. You can feel the energy and pure joy of gorgeous sunsets, or the rolling landscape of wineries on 101 as you drive south towards SF.
