Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Bernal moon cycle, sunset flip book, and stormy ocean skies

SF Gift Art Pop-up Nov 17-20 at 307 Cortland

Secession Art & Design's SF Gift Art Pop-up is next week, November 17-20, at 307 Cortland. All of our artists have been creating a collection that's a perfect backdrop for your holiday entertaining.

This week's inspirations are artists Stephanie Steiner and Daniel Leu, whose artistic eyes are always watching the sky for its ever-changing moods. Stephanie paints in acrylic with splashes of spray paint to evoke the movement of the sea and sky. Daniel's 2020 experiment was to set a tripod up on Bernal Hill and capture the sunset over a long period of time. He created a flip book that is a joy to experience.

I look forward to seeing you all in Bernal in the very near future!

XO Eden

PS: If you are local, preorder online while these are in stock and choose to pick them up at our Gift Art Pop-up. We can also ship anywhere in the US.
