Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Virtual Happy Hour with Ariel Gold and Carol Pesce-Imlay

Secession Art & Design's Mother's Day art collection, Weightless, features the bright textured brushstrokes of Ariel Gold and vibrant sea life illustrated on repurposed uni boxes by Carol Pesce-Imlay. Many of the pieces in this show were painted at makeshift studios in the artists' homes while they sheltered in place. Having the common goal of this show made us focus on the power of art giving us a voice for emotion and resilience, saying the unspoken out loud through color, depth, and focus.

Please join us this Friday, May 8 at 6-7pm for a Zoom Virtual Happy Hour to meet the artists, learn about their process, and see their home studios. I will be at the gallery to show you their beautiful collection of essential art. To join click https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89847272515?pwd=MXd0T1I4UXRsTE9LNHZVQUFxRDJWQT09 at 6pm on Friday.
