Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Made with love in Mission Bernal!

Secession is proud to say that we know our artists and designers. Every maker has a story, and many of them live right in our backyard. Two years ago, I got to move back to the neighborhood. I’m now not only part of a community on my block, but throughout Mission Bernal. I'm able to stop in studios, shops, garages, and homes to visit these creators.

At Secession every sale matters, from the baby gifts to the art you hang on your wall. When you buy local, your money is going right back into the community. This weekend as the city celebrates small business, get offline and onto the streets to support Mission Bernal businesses. You make me smile when you come through the door like an old friend. Let me show you what is new and inspiring from one of our 60+ local entrepreneurs.

XO Eden

P.S. Check out everything that’s happening in the Mission this month. Also, our friends at Eco Jewelry, 3174 Mission St, are doing a free jewelry cleaning in May.
