Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

New cozy fall coats and print dresses have arrived

Stop by Tuesday-Sunday 12-7 to see clothing that rocks your world

In San Francisco, we know how to layer with style and wow people as we walk down city streets to work or play. This season you will find waterproof jackets made by Portland designer Erik Prowell of Bridge & Burn. He is from the land of rain, so I trust him with winter apparel. For men he makes it broad in the shoulders and long in the arms. For the man that says nothing ever fits - we got you.

Thank you to artist Soad A. Kader for introducing us to Zuri. During our Artspan Open Studios weekend, we could not keep these dresses on the rack. I bought one that I like to rock over my Mahoohoo dress as a coat and tuck my hands into the pockets. Artist Heather Robinson's beautiful magenta hair was the perfect compliment to her Zuri that she wore over jeans. A perfect dress in lots of patterns that you can wear so many different ways. These fair-trade Kenyan print dresses are bright, eye-catching, and make you feel positive.

Secession represents over 60 independent designers from the Bay Area and beyond. My passion is watching my designers grow and discovering new inspiration along the journey. Thank you for being part of this adventure.
